The Cold War

The Cold War was originally started by mutual distrust and hostility between the Soviet Union and the United States. This was when the United States accused the Soviet Union of trying to spread communism to other countries and the Soviet Union accused the United States of imperialism and trying to break up revolutionary activity in some countries. The time of this period happened was from the end of World War 2 to the breakup of the Soviet Union in the early 1990's. A few of the occasions where armed conflict happened between the two were during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Mostly however, the work was carried out through spies and traitors. Both also competed over technology and weaponry.
